- Oversee the operational integrity of our production platform, managing cloud workloads and platform components.
- Vigilantly monitor the availability of cloud resources and infrastructure.
- Enhance the quality, reliability, and security posture of all platform-level applications.
- Continuously measure and optimize performance to meet service objectives.
- Take proactive measures to minimize incidents and ensure system stability.
- Thoroughly document manual actions for potential automation and assist teams in establishing Service-Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Ensure software engineering teams have adequate monitoring and alerting configurations.
- Implement Chaos Engineering techniques to fortify production systems’ resilience.
- Champion modern solutions for agile software development and deployment in cloud environments.
- Provide support to software engineering teams in configuring and maintaining CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes.
- Offer a Site Reliability Engineer perspective to inform platform requirements and priorities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for self-service consumption by software engineers.
- Hold a formal degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possess certification in cloud computing platforms, with a preference for Azure.
- Showcase substantial experience in Site Reliability Engineering roles, particularly focusing on cloud-native software engineering.
- Demonstrate proficiency with various cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, along with their associated services.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of cloud-native architectures, including microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
- Showcase expertise in utilizing third-party monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, and Splunk.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and empathy with software engineering teams.
- Demonstrate adeptness in analytical thinking and problem-solving, prioritizing scalability, reliability, and high performance.
- Display familiarity with security and compliance best practices within cloud-based environments.
- Have proficiency in Linux CLI tools, including Git and Docker.
- Possess proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Ruby, and others.
