In 2022, Hunt & Co. were engaged to recruit a Head of Engineering role for a rapidly growing prop-tech startup founded in Brisbane. Created on the basis of supporting Queenslanders and other industries during the Covid-19 pandemic, this digital platform is currently helping over 300,000 visitors per month inspect properties from the comfort of their own homes. Over the past two years of business to now, the business continues to add incredible value to the industry, and its growing team.
Having successfully recruited a number of Sales, Digital Marketing and Technology roles for this organisation, the Hunt & Co. team were quickly appointed to support this critical hire.
This Head of Engineering role was a key role to fill within this team and one that would have a major impact on the business’s growth. As a technical leadership role, this candidate would be on the tools but also responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to junior Software Developers within the team. From a technical standpoint, they would also require strong React, Microservices and AWS experience and although not imperative, real estate or prop-tech experience was certainly a ‘nice to have’.
What was also interesting about this hire was the organisation’s flexible hybrid work arrangements. As the company operates largely remotely, the ideal candidate would not only require the key leadership capabilities to support and nurture a team in general but also have the ability to lead a remote team.
